Mother’s Day is coming up and I wanted to share this easy centerpiece you can put together with Dollar Tree items. Even if you don’t have a Dollar Tree where you live you can find these items very cheap anywhere else. You can make this centerpiece any size you want. It all depends on the size of the picture frame you choose. Since I didn’t want mine to be too big I chose a 4 x 6 frame.
You will need
4 picture frames of your choice
Flowers ( they can be real or fake )
Decorative paper of your choice
Flowerpot or shallow container
Floral foam
Glue gun and glue sticks and E6000 glue
As you can see I chose two gift bags for my picture frame inserts since my flowers matched them perfectly. You can even use pretty wrapping paper if it matches your flowers.
Use the original insert from your picture frame to measure and cut your decorative paper. I also used a one dollar Mother’s Day card (not shown) for my centerpiece.
Open the frame backing and insert your paper inside and close again. This is how my frames looked after.
Now all you have to do is glue all the four frames together to form a hollow box. Use a combination of a strong glue like E6000 (or any available ) and glue gun to make your box strong . Put the stronger glue all over leaving just enough space in the corners to dab the glue gun sticks to hold the frames together while E6000 dries. This step is important otherwise your box will be very flimsy.
Now take your flowers and arrange your bouquet accordingly in your flowerpot or vase. My centerpiece was hollow from the bottom since I wasn’t carrying it anywhere else. You can always cut and glue a piece of cardboard form or anything sturdy enough to hold your bouquet , at the bottom of your box.
Now who wouldn’t like to receive a bouquet like this! You can personalize this centerpiece however you want. It doesn’t have to be for Mother’s Day only. You can make several and use them as centerpieces for a graduation party or a baby shower. The possibilities are endless!
I love how mine turned out. I hope you will give it a try and make your mom feel extra special this year!
Very creative idea…..beautiful!
